The Day I Was Damn Tired But I Still Had Fun

Every year in June, all Hyatt hotels around the world will celebrate their employees, and June is the month of 'Celebrating Our People' for Hyatt. So this year, instead of celebrate our staff as usual as previous years, we also called their family together with us to celebrate this big event. Last week was a very hectic week for me because we organized a Family Day for all staff. With short noticed (2 weeks) to prepare this event was too much for me and being a Chairman for Sports & Social Activities for company, a lots of thing that I need to think of.

A lots of activities through the day. We had tele-matches, treasure hunt, colouring, drawing and fashion show contest for kids, live band, bbq, and lots of food. Owh, we got clown through out the day to entertain the kids.

It was really tiring but at the end of the day, all hard work was worth it when see all the peoples with the smile on their face. After the clearing part finished, myself with few peoples (Suren, Bhavani, Charles & family) chilled out at Sampan Bar and had our Japanese dinner. It was really fun to be with them.

The Day I Really Don't Know How To Say It

I have so much things in my mind right now, but I really don't how to put it. So much works yet so little time and some peoples were just pissing me off and I'm really upset, disappointed, and frustrated.

Hari & Charmian Wedding + Short Holiday

Last 2 weeks I went to Penang for Gerard's daughter wedding + short holiday. Left on Thursday night by bus and reached there Friday morning. The journey was damn long and I can tell you that it was not comfortable at all, the bus was damn cold, the seat so hard!!!

We stopped at Butterworth and took ferry to the island. It was 6am and the view really good from the ferry.

Gerard already arranged early check in for us, he really a nice boss. We reached Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel almost 7am. After put our bags in the room, and guess what, he (Gerard) upgraded our room to sea view, we went down and had our quick breakfast as we need to get ready for the wedding ceremony at 10am.

The view from our room was so beautiful and I can't take my eyes of it, but unfortunately we need to get ready by 9.30am as Rao, my other officemate will bring us to the church for the wedding ceremony. All 7 of us from here stayed in the same hotel. So, while waiting, we took our first group photo. And most of us didn't sleep at all the night before.

We reached on the right time, before Gerard walked his daughter. And I really can see the joy in his eyes. He was so happy and I'm happy too for him.

We gathered outside after the ceremony finished, we talked, laughed, took photos and planned what we are going to do before the dinner. And obviously most of us just want to go back to hotel and sleep.

Planned want to go back to hotel and have a nice sleep, but Gerard invited us to his house for lunch. All of us went and cramped his apartment and had our lunch until 2pm. We went back to hotel and I was trying to sleep but still can't. We just lepak and talked and get ready for wedding reception at 7.30pm. Lucky the wedding reception was held in the same hotel where we were staying so it quite easy for us.

We left early because so tired and planned to go out and check out the hottest club in town, but we ended up in the room sleeping. I don't know is either because we didn't sleep for the past 24 hours or because of the V Pepper we had before the dinner. I know whenever I had V, I felt asleep easily and the same thing goes to him.

We woke up quite early the next day, Saturday. Had our breakfast and out for a island tour. We went to few places and had our super nice Nasi Kandar. Went back to hotel in the evening and had our early drinking session in hotel lounge called Bayu together with GM and Gerard before we out for dinner. And finally we managed to squeeze our time to check out the hottest club in the island, Slippery Senorita with the help of Gerard's son, Joshua. That night was really good and we had so much fun together.

We left Penang on Sunday night after had a very good home cooked at Gerard's place and reached on Monday morning.

Penang was good after my last trip about 6 years back and we had so much fun for both, wedding and holiday. I really need a break and this short holiday was a good retreat for me. After came back, I feel like I want more holiday. Next short holiday, Sabah maybe. Our Sabah trip in September jadi kan U?! Please!!!

It's Already 2 Years

I celebrate my 2nd year of employment today. Times fly so fast I guess. Feels like so new since I joined this company but as people said, pejam celik - pejam celik, it's already 2 years.
How I started with this company? I've started as an industrial trainee here where I did my 3 months internship followed by part time in the same department. During my 2nd month of internship, I was offered a job after finish my study. After a week thinking of that offer, I agreed and signed a MOU with them. I was agree because I thought its not easy to get job nowadays. But the main reason I accepted the offer because of the career path with this big company. I knew that I can grow with them.

Be in the Multinational and American based company is not easy at all. A lots of things need to follow and catch up the way they work, but most of all I enjoyed and love my job. I have a very good team and my boss is super duper nice and we are more like friends. A few months before my 2nd year here, I've received a good news for my career development. I'll be in the Pre-Opening Team project for South East Asia. It is a good opportunity for me to develop my career with this company. I'm so happy at last they see my hard work. I'm so looking forward for this project and hope that I can be in Phuket end of this year or at least early next year for the Opening project.

After 6 months with the company, I've been sent to Hong Chi Minh City, Vietnam for my very first business trip for recruitment. It was only 3 days 2 nights but most of all I enjoyed my business trip and I shopped a lot. :)

One of the benefit being in this company, all employees received a 12 times complimentary rooms at any Hyatt hotel in the world. I utilized it and had my holiday in Bali last December and brought along my bestie. It was really good experienced and we had so much fun and shopping in Bali.

From Bali, we flew to Jakarta to continue our holiday there. We've been there for 4 days and 3 nights.

Early this year, I've been sent to JB and Singapore for another business trip. I was tiring but as usual I've always enjoyed my trip. It doesn't matter whether I'm there for work or holiday, I still enjoyed to be in one of our property around the world.

Everyday is a different day for me. Yes, sometimes I'm also under pressured and stress about work but after all, I'm still enjoying my work here. I know that something is waiting for me there. All I need to do is doing my work and achieved what I want.
